Children

Worship / Music Team

Leader: Jens Madsen

If you are a member of Risen Church Westside, gifted musically, and more importantly, if you have a desire to use your gifts for God's glory, then we would love to have you join our music team.

Children’s Ministry

Leader: Kara Wilde

Our children's ministry program exists to introduce children to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to help them to live their whole lives in response. We do so by walking with them through their spiritual development--building Christ-centered relationships, teaching a Bible-centered curriculum, and participating in missional activities.

Welcome

Leader: Rachel Hall

Almost every Sunday is someone's first Sunday at Risen Church Westside. Imagine joining a team that has fun creating a welcoming environment for our visitors. The Welcome team works hard to create an environment where each person feels welcome and comfortable. You can expect to have fun, care for new people, share community with your team, and play a significant role in helping someone have a wonderful experience.

Serve Los Angeles

Young Life

Leader: Missions Team

Many in our church partner with Young Life and are passionate about its mission of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. If you have an interest in serving local middle school and high school students, please let us know and we'd love to connect you.

Harvest Home

Leader: Missions Team

Harvest Home seeks to transform the lives of homeless, pregnant women and their children by identifying and overcoming the root causes of homelessness, and by promoting physical and emotional health, spiritual growth, and financial independence. Members of Risen Church Westside host a Bible study for the women of Harvest Home.

OPCC

Leader: Kyle Wilhelm

The OPCC serves more than 8,000 people annually, empowering them to rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient. Join us every other Monday as we seek to build relationships with and love those the OPCC serves every day.

Serve The World

Mike and Stacy

Mike and Stacy, based in Austin, Texas, are responsible for recruiting, training, and coaching young missionaries doing college ministry in some of the most unreached locations in the world in North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

Brian and Barb

After living in the Congo and Cameroon for many years, the Schrag family relocated to Dallas. Brian is in charge of SIL's ethnomusicology and arts work around the world, including developing and teaching courses at the Center for Excellence in World Arts. Barb is supporting locally-led Bible translation projects through The Seed Company. We believe every person should be able to communicate with God in the spoken and artistic languages that speak to their hearts most deeply.

Chris and Anya

Chris and Anya Gandy have been assigned to serve in St. Petersburg, Russia since 2011. The Gandy's serve in a support role alongside the staff of "The Harbor", a Russian non-profit that shepherds young adult orphans as they exit the orphanage and enter into Russian society. Their ministry responsibilities include hosting Harbor events, assisting in the development of promotional materials and coaching documents, teaching English and computer skills, and mentoring young adults toward a healthy outlook on life and toward a relationship with God. "The Harbor" has reached hundreds of at-risk youth in Russia and has inspired like-minded ministries across the post-Soviet region. Support their work here.

Greg and Ginette

Greg and Ginette have committed the past 25 years to reaching out and sharing Christ’s love with Muslims, mostly in North Africa and West Africa. After living in small African villages for 17 years, they moved to Spain in 2008. Today, they are overseeing all of the work in Sub-Saharan Africa for a large organization whose mission is to give all Muslim peoples access to the Good News of Jesus. Having experienced the saving power of Jesus in their own lives, they believe that God will spark Christward movements among African Muslim peoples.

Global Mission

Leader: Kent Crawford

We care about being the kind of church that doesn't exist solely for our local community, but for the world. Our desire is to see both the physical and spiritual needs met of people all over the globe.

As a church we support more than 10 missionaries and ministries, only a few of which you see listed here. If you desire to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus by serving our international community, we would love to help support and send you.
